01. Overview
Shopify is an e-commerce platform that allows individuals and businesses to create and manage online stores. After being an experienced Shopify user, and having a few issues with the organizational/analytical part of the platform, I’ve decided to research further. The online platform does not include the option for creating custom analytical reports to categorize various collections and analyze the profit margin for each one.
Problem
Finding the profit margin for specific collections, in order to analyze sales, inventory, customers, etc.
Solution
Add custom collection report within the Analytics Page.
1.2 Shopify's Report Page

Shopify's reports page provides information to help you understand your store's performance. The reports can be categorized to meet your specific needs, and you can save them for future reference. Utilizing the reports page can help the user identify business trends, track progress, and make informed decisions.  

02. Research
To pinpoint the primary user concerns, I initiated research by engaging with existing users and analyzing online reviews. A prevailing theme emerged, highlighting dissatisfaction with Shopify’s reports feature, where users are unable to access their profits from a single collection. Collections include, Brands, Seasons, Clothing, Accessories, etc.
2.1 User Interviews
Following conversations with seasoned users and an examination of Shopify Discussions and reviews, I've identified prevalent challenges as: 

1. Analytics tool is very limited
2. Confusing navigation
3. Unable to create custom reports

"The analytics/reports page is not useful to grow our business because of the lack of customization"

"I want to find a demographic for certain products and then target ads to that demographic more effectively"
2.2 Competitive Analysis
We researched alternative apps in the same field of ecommerce. In contrast to the results, Shopify did not provide essential information and customizable reports, prompting us to establish it as our goal for solution.
2.3 Persona
With our gathered information, we created personas to help understand the users' needs, experiences, behaviors and goals.
